“She antique she is,” Yoshhie the man behind the table at the South Dallas Flea Market said, “She was made in 1959.”

Ken Noble examined the camera, a Kodak Retina Reflex S. He took it out if its leather case and fidgeted with the dials and buttons. “How much you want?” he asked.

Yoshhie looked the man up and down; no older than sixty, clean-cut, no jewelry, t-shirt and a well worn bomber jacket, probably not rich. “Fifty cash dollars she's yours,” Yoshhie said.

Ken now trying to open the back of the camera.

“She's stuck. I think she must be dropped. Easy to fix, no problem,” Yoshhie said.

“If I can’t open the back I can’t see if the shutter is working. If the shutter isn’t working it’s no good,” Ken said handing the camera back to Yoshhie.

“Forty cash dollars,” Yoshhie offered. “And she comes in this box,” he said putting the cardboard box on the table. She have filters and flash and films all yours with her.”

Ken looked at the items in the box thinking some of the filters and accessories might be a good addition to his collection, the rolls of film would probably be worthless. “It’s not worth a dime if it doesn’t work.”

“Twenty cash dollars, is my final offer sir. Even if she won’t be working she is still old and in beautiful shape too,” Yoshhie said handing the camera back to Ken, “Just look at her hardly ever used.”

The camera did look pristine for an almost sixty year old. “I’ll give you ten bucks.”

“Sold.”
